Sport steering/fast steering arms

I am tearing into my car, fixing/replacing/painting/etc and while under the front end noticed that the steering arms are greatly larger than usual.

The car turns about 3 1/2 turns lock to lock, so something has changed, and its probably the arms, but I have never seen a set so large.

Does anyone know, were these part of the Crown package, or are these some aftermarket ends. They have no numbers that I can see, but I will have them off in a short time, due to cleaning, blasting
the front end.

Awaiting an answer from the guru's

I have a set of fast arms on my car ,, purchased a long time ago , but i believe i got them from Clarks ,, they are very thick .
LONG time ago i bought some from a firm i think was called IECO . also thick . i am in the process of installing flaming river quick ratio box and may go back to stock arms .. note the new box is heavier and somewhat larger than stock . cool to hear about your progress on the car .

The question of quick steering arms was sent to Howard Trevor for comment. I will post his reply on the Forum.

Howard Trevor has confirmed to me that he is not aware that Crown sold quick steering arms for Crown conversions. Here's what he said in an email to me:

I didn't find Corvair steering arms in the catalog, just VW. I tried to spot one in the pictures of Corv-8 items but also didn't spot one. The ones I have are probably Clarks.

thanks again.

I am going to take them off and clean them and see if they are marked in any way.

Bob, I took some photos of my front suspension parts yesterday. My steering arms are 8" total length, fairly thick, gold anolized and I didn't see any markings on them when I was cleaning them up. I was told the gold anolized parts are Crown parts. I'm not sure my info is correct or if this info is of any use.

OK I took the arms off

They are considerably larger than stock, and 2 1/2 inches shorter than stock.

They are not marked, so no names or numbers.

Any ideas who made these.
