Drag Race Match

Postby Louisville Lanning » Mon Sep 12, 2016 9:22 pm

One of our newer members is Luke Pitts. Luke has a sharp looking white conversion with a 383 SBC up front. It looks like a cool drag car. Then we have Mike Meyers who has been a members for some years who also has a white front engine conversion with a LS-1 engine. Mike lives in Wood River, IL and Luke in Des Moines, IA, not terribly far apart.

Wouldn't it be fun to watch these two white conversion take a run against each other down the 1/4 mile? CAN WE MAKE THIS HAPPEN? Here's the two Corvairs in question.

Mike just finished Drag Week about a week ago. 5 days, 5 different strips, about 1000 miles of driving. Don't know how he finished, he runs in street eliminator class. Restricted to a 10.0 average for the 5 days, then a bracket style elimination on the last day. Mike had been running in the high 10 sec range but don't know what his overall average was. Pretty grueling scenario.

I think it would be a fun race. Though his car is a street car and mine is definitely not a street car. I love how he has a Pro-Charger as my dad has an F1R on his 72 Nova. Mike definitely has two very nice cars.
