Just saw this, and in fact I am looking for a complete set for my coupe project. Anyway, the best "tool" for removal is a bottle cap remover. Wrap the flat part with a couple layers of electrical tape, and CAREFULLY hook the bottom tab (the part that would go under a cap) and lift slowly. With care and patience and working the tool over a broad area, it will lift off the drip rail. Once it starts to separate, you have to sort of roll the trim off, towards the center of the car. You can damage it, but I pulled the trim off one around 1970 for the first time and never damaged a piece since.
I would also recommend that unless you really have to remove it don't!
