Modern Security System for V8 Vair

Postby Dave Baeckelandt » Sun Jul 17, 2016 1:22 pm

The V8 Vair I have just purchased and the fact that I am in the process of relocating to an area that has a higher-than-average reputation for stolen automobiles has triggered the question of whether other owners have installed some kind of modern security system?

If you have done so, I would love to know what system you went with, whether self-installed or by a professional, and what it may have cost you?

Thanks very much for any and all guidance.

Best regards,

When I relocated the battery into the middle of the car and installed an MSD ignition box I connected the white point feed wire to a hidden toggle switch to kill the ignition
It works great except when I forget to turn it on and the car wont fire haha

As for modern systems the problem is they work with computer controlled cars and I dnt think they would work with the old tech our cars have

My new (?) wiring system from American Wiring included a togle switch that mounts close to the fuse panel that kills power to the coil wire (MSD power wire). Problem is I never use it. I also have a power switch (racing style) that kills all power from the battery. I do use that all the time.

I have a hidden toggle switch in the fuel pump circuit.
(EFI, so no pump, no run)
