YS099 Yenko Stinger Converted to Corv-8

Another Registry member sent me this web site with information about how Dick Bolt converted his YS099 Corvair Stinger into a Crown Corv-8. The conversion was done around 1970. The engine was a new 1970 LT1 350 solid lifter crate engine. Here's pictures of the car in 1973. Imagine, a hybrid combining the expertise of both Don Yenko and Ted Trevor. Most would probably agree, based on current values for original Stingers, that this is one conversion that should not have been started.

Does anyone know where this car is today?

Some time ago David Button asked what happened to this Stinger. As it turns out I now know who owns this car. Bob Dunahue in Iowa owns it and several others. Bob reports that he removed the Crown kit and restored the car back to a Yenko Stinger. Too bad

As I understand it Yenko Stinger YS103 is still under restoration as a Crown/Yenko V-8 conversion. I have no details, but I have one contact who knows the owner. Some folks just don't like to be bothered during their restorations.

Hmm, not sure what the Stinger number is (YS073 or YS089, I think), but Chuck Sadek has a converted Stinger that was converted back to a Stinger. If you get a chance to check it out, check out the floor. Still has the weld from where the floor was replaced. Oh yeah, I ended up with most of the Crown conversion.
