The jars you see are one pound jars of .008 metal flake. I have already gone through one jar at the point. I get one full coat on every panel using 2 quarts of clear. I consider that one coat. I figure I need 3 to 4 more coats to complete the metal flake portion
The bottom photo does show how well the flake is laying down. You can see the sheen on top of the fender and the roof.

I took a month or so off but started back at it today. I decided to try and use a dry flake process instead of mixing it into the clear. I’m using a spot sandblaster to apply the flake over light coats of clear. The trunk lid had about a 25% coverage before the test today. It turns out that this is now a 2 man job so idi not completely finish off the trunk lid. I’m still pretty stoked about how everything is coming along

I’m really liking the way the flake looks when it is applied dry

very nice John ought to really jump out in the sun ,,but as I look at the picture I wonder ,,what are you going to do with the bumper ? I try to imagine one there and it seems like chrome will look tame next to that paint .. thanks for posting I enjoy seeing the progress

YOu have read my mind Richard. I have not thought that far ahead. My front and rear bumper were re-chromed many years ago. All the stainless has been polished. A friend suggested doing Nickle plated ( brush finish ) on all the trim. It sounds good but I still like shiny stuff ( in case you couldn't tell ). I also need to do wheels. The Weld Prostars are nice but I think we need a change.

Thanks for the nice words...............I appreciate it

Time will tell I guess

Good job, I'm shocked a bit at how clean that space is for having this amount of airborne product all over the car panels
