Diff freshen-up.

Diff freshen-up.

Postby WarWagon » Fri Jul 24, 2015 1:55 pm

Rebuilding the Diff in my Crown V8. I ruined the original 3.55 ring & pinion a year ago. Installed used 3.55 gear set on the Crown 4 spider Posi carrier that is pictured, but did not use the HD pinion shaft. I used my original pinion shaft that was mint. Saving the HD shaft for a spare transaxle I'll build this winter with a 3.27 gear set.Image

When I built the first of my soon to be 4 diffs, all 4 spider and one of them posi. I used one of my stock pinion shafts because I don't have any HD ones.
So far my modified (by me) has stood up to 1,000 miles of some pretty serious driving and some playing. I'll post pictures later.
