You will like the 3.85 1st gear...good choice.

Are you running a 3.08 ring and pinion ...if so perfect?

I only know of the Wills shifter for your application.

Arch Evans mentioned to me that Mike Levine is running a C5 differential with a "cable" shifter. The cables take the place of having to use solid rods. Maybe we can hear more about this from Mr Levine?

That cable shifter is on his Jerico transmission.

First I want to thank everyone for all of the help in working on this car. You are a super group of people.

I finally got the transaxle out today with the cross member as a unit. The clutch really did not look bad but the throw-out bearing was in rough shape. Of course a simple project has now blossomed into all new transmission mounts, rear shocks, rear sway bar bushings, shifter bushings, front swaybar links, new clutch, machined flywheel, new gas tsnl, new coolant tubes, dual brake upgrade and so on.
Questions:
Should the "ball" for the clutch lever be changed? Looks OK but as long as things are apart...

The rear swaybar links the same as the front?

Suggestions for rear shocks?

I'm going with a Centerforce II clutch. For a stock 327, is this enough? My focus is making the clutch pedal easier to push. It is nearly impossible to hold it down right now. The fellow who built the car told me it was a super high grip unit.

There's a guy here in SoCal who uses push-pull cables for his shifter. Marine cables, or ?
Funny - I thought the diaphragm pressure plates are easier to hold in than the coil spring types?
(diaphragm has most force when engaged, less as it gets pushed in close to being flat. - I wonder what setup/configuration can be done there?

What are you using for the coolant tubes?

Right now I have steel exhaust pipe that was installed in 1970. Seems to be in good shape but I am going to replace them with 1.25" copper. Just not comfortable from age.
