Porsche Transaxle

Would I be better to change out the 1966 Corvair transaxle with a Porsche (or other brand) unit? If so, what Porsche model is best/ easiest? I was thinking of having the differential gears changed in my current differential but I have been unable to find anyone who will do it near New England. Just a thought of changing to the Porsche unit instead. I can budget $2-3K to switch transaxles. Is that enough?

Look into a Boxter 996 five speed at a quarter of the transaxle cost.

It looks like Kennedy Engineering make the adapter already but call.

An obvious obstacle is the starter pocket is on the engine side.

Easier to make work cable shifted and clockwise rotation design.

E-bay link for price comparison...a bargain compared to 930/G50.
