Looking for a decent Crown subframe. Prefer something close to Louisville, KY and very reasonably priced? Anyone have what I'm looking for?

John, I have a sub frame, if you still need one. I would send a picture if I could figure how to upload an attachment!

Hi,
As a re-joining member of the V8Registry, I am also looking for a Crown subframe. Have most of the other parts. Prefer one close to Colorado.
Best regards,
Lowell Duncan

Lowell,
I would suggest giving Archibald Evans a call. You should be able to find his phone number in the Registry Roster. I believe he can build one for you.

Hi Rick,
Thanks. If I can't find one close by, I can likely have a friend build one locally using the measurements and diagram that Rick Norris put together. The one thing I have not been able to find is the wall thickness of the rectangular tubing. Any idea what the wall thickness is?
Best regards,
Lowell

Lowell,
I'm pretty sure it's 1.8" or .125. I cut mine to move the cross bar back 3" for more leg room and it wasn't very thick.
If I remember when I get home, I'll double check and let you know.
Toby

Hi Toby,
Thank you for your offer to measure the wall thickness of the subframe. Am looking forward to finding out exactly what it is. Just guessing, I was thinking about .090 or .125 inch, but it will be good to actually find out so I can order some material and get started on building one.
Best regards,
Lowell
