Well what is currently in the car and what are your goals for the machine?
Now in 2017: no kits, especially mid engined version. Anything going on will be custom. You may find partial kits or can find a rolling chassis with them in it. One could build an Crown inspired style setup with the Corvair transaxle weaknesses. A full size Saginaw mainshaft can be modified and used in the Corvair transaxle to substitute the Crown conversion piece.

this was on another forum about a month ago ,, don't know what might be available still:and I see it was posted here also

From: Sydney Baumgartner Sydbaumgartner AT centurytel.net

To anyone that's interested I have disassembled my 65 Crown car and have all the parts for sale including never installed parts from Bob Coffin including 2 complete Transaxle's, complete disc brake conversion and many, many other parts. Keeping the body, which is just a shell now, for a future full tube chassis car.

I live in Hallsville, Missouri

There is nothing in the car. The engine was only a block and the interior is all out. Aluminum panel are in place and a roll cage. I would like to build the car for time trial racing and drive it around town as a show off.

I was thinking of doing a sbc 383 500hp married to a Porsche 986 5 speed with a sequential shifter.

Still looking at builds other folks have done and getting ideas. If anyone has a V8 corvair and live a couple of hours from me and are willing to let me look at it so I can take some measurements and pictures to have an idea on how to do my build, it would be highly appreciated.

Where are you located?
If you're near SoCal, come to the Fan Belt Toss in Palm Springs - there will be several water pumpers there.
Otherwise, there are various gatherings all over from time to time.
