Looking to purchase a Lexan rear window

Postby pbeck » Fri Mar 06, 2020 10:45 pm

I'm doing some major reconfiguration of my interior caused by the installation of fully adjustable seats. Don't get real excite , they still only provide about 5" of travel. Giving serious thought to switching to a Lexan rear glass with some venting at the top.
If anyone has a window for an LM or knows an outlet please let me know.

Paul,

Arch gave me contact info for a place in California that makes the rear window (I assume Lexan) with the dual gates at the top center to allow for heat dissipation. I believe the cost was $1200 per window. Perhaps if we ordered in bulk we might get a better deal? Let me know if that is of interest.

Best,

Dave

Dave,
That price is quite a bit out of my price range. I seem to remember that Dave Clements had some he offered in the past. I'll drop him an email and see.
Thanks.

Also interested if you can source something a little less pricey. Cheers, Dave

Dave and Paul: With three of us there might be a volume discount from the folks Arch mentioned. I'm happy to check if you're interested.

Dave D: Sorry I just saw your reply. I'll check with the manufacturer and see what kind of volume discounts we could get and post here.

Take care and stay safe!

Arch indicated he did not have any let from his production run and any additional would have to be ordered (by who ever wants one) directly from the manufacturer. I think he indicated the company also produces aircraft (fighter ?) canopies.

For those interested in buying, this was the message that Arch sent me:

The window cost is $1,100.00 each, shipping to Glenview, IL is a additional $235.00. Current lead time for production is 2 weeks...

Theoretically it is the same as Scott Cooper's rear window in this screen shot of his V8 Vair. (sorry file was too large and the system did not allow me to save here).
