Power to weight ratios

A lot of new muscle cars have monster power ratings.
I got to drive a Challenger R/T with Scat Pack last weekend - rated 485 hp.
Pretty nice - definitely hauls. But, it is also over 4000 pounds.

so - pounds/hp gives you a decent idea of low-mid range performance, right?
