More interference on the lower oil pan pad. I had to remove material from the oil pan for the bell housing to clear and seat against the block since this is not a dedicated LS bell housing.

I installed the flywheel for the dialing procedure and after the math I ordered a set of .014 offset dowls for this to be finished.

Flywheel is on for the final time and torqued, the bell housing is going to get a good cleaning next.

I finished the drilling/tapping of the block for the low mount alternator that uses the truck spacing. This engine will drive a water pump and alternator as the only accessories on a serpentine belt.

New 11" Summit clutch installed and the LS engine is home in the chassis, I ran into come clearance problems with the stock truck oil pan. It's really deep and now the lowest part on the car it's also hitting the shift linkage in the front. I'm going to replace it with a 4th Gen f body pan setup. The low mount alternator location will work but needs additional clearance on the Crown subframe, but I cannot finish that until I swap the oil pan and get it off the shift linkage.

The truck pan is much too low.

It's been one week today that I've gotten pins out of my wrist and the cast off, much better to work.

Got all the new parts and oil pan finished/installed.

Did the same removal of material to this pan

Lots of clearance for shifter and the ground

I see this is going to need an oil filter relocation and a shorter oil drain plug.

Next up: mod my cross member so the alternator fits.

LS swap troubles in tight places: oil pan drain plug has very little clearance to the shift tube, a M12x1.75 flanged head socket screw will fix that.

Now the oil filter relocation setup needs modified, it was too long and definitely long with 8AN fittings in it. I cut half of it off and I'll cut the npt threads off these 8AN fittings so they can be welded flush on the adapter. They have to be short to clear the shift tube, I got 45* angle 8AN fittings coming from.the adapter for the most room.

This is the 3rd-4th gear shift tube position:

Fuel system components are all ready to install now with a return line back to the filler neck. I'm replacing a few coolant hoses as maintenence. New longer Morse cable installed for the throttle, a bit of work needed at the thottle body end yet. The last bit of wiring and exhaust will be soon

I'd strongly suggest you reverse the LS intake and have the throttle body at the rear of the car.

'02 truck harness will be shortend by deleting the following circuits:
Oil pressure
Oil level
A/C
Evap purge
Trans range
Front axle lock.
The PCM will control the fuel pump and cooling fans instead of being on switches as an update to the original Crown setup. The LS swap wiring is quite simple to intergrate into the cars wiring.
